Quality off-the-shelf resonators, oscillators and filters for quick delivery
Rakon has released the latest 1.6 GHz Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillator (VCSO) in its RSV2522-1600 series. The RSV2522-1600 series is now available offering unparalleled phase noise in the industry of -160 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset and -167 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset. Figure 1 shows a RSV2522-1600 unit’s phase noise measured at 1.6 GHz.
The RSV2522-1600 series uses a high performance SAW resonator to generate 800 MHz frequency output, combined with a frequency doubler to attain a 1.6 GHz frequency. It can be easily locked to a stable reference through a Phase Locked Loop (PLL), or it can be used as a SAW clock without the need for external circuitry. The RSV2522-1600 has low power consumption requiring only a single +5 V power supply. Performance is guaranteed over the full industrial temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
The RSV2522-1600 is ideal for Electronic Warfare (EW), radar systems, avionics and instrumentation applications, as well as high speed data converters, which require a high frequency clock with low jitter.
The RSV2522-1600 is internally regulated by an ultra-low noise voltage regulator which guarantees an excellent tuning linearity (for a tuning voltage from 0.5 to +4.5 V) without the need for additional components.
