Rakon has released the RVC1414D, a Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) designed for defence and high reliability communication applications. Nominal frequencies are available in the range of 980 to 1215 MHz. Based on thick film technology developed in-house, additionally the RVC1414D integrates a unique low-pass filter, to reach a high level of harmonics. Bipolar transistors are core components, optimising the oscillator’s phase noise, down to -90 dBc/Hz @ 50 kHz offset.
The RVC1414D is available in a hermetically sealed TO-8 metal can with gold plated pins. This package type, combined with its wire bonding circuitry design, enables enhanced signal integrity for end applications. The hybrid design also protects the VCO from moisture, contaminants and other environmental impacts. These special characteristics make the RVC1414D an ideal choice for applications operating within extreme environments, where resistance to radiation, shock and vibration is required.
The RVC1414D complies with MIL-STD-883 and is a 4 pin device in a Ø14 mm package size.
