Ultra Stable TCXOs
Learn more about our Niku Ultra Stable TCXO platform and pre-order samples...
We're excited to introduce the successor to our highly successful Pluto® TCXO range. Niku™ is our next-generation Ultra Stable TCXO solution for telecommunications, positioning, defence and automotive applications.
The platform will bring in a new generation of Ultra Stable TCXOs with ultra low jitter (<50 femtoseconds), extended frequency range (10-100 MHz) and low g-sensitivity (0.2 ppb/g).
Key applications:
- AI Computing / Data Centres
- 5G, 5G Advanced, 6G radio heads and small cells
- Backhaul networking
- Exploration and Mining
- Precision Positioning
- Aerospace and Defence
- Satellite terminals
- Automotive / V2X
- Industry 4.0
Key technologies
The Niku platform brings together a number of Rakon proprietary technologies, all working together to achieve increasingly better oscillator performance.
Niku ASIC
Niku is the successor to Pluto®, Rakon's highly successful range of Ultra Stable TCXO ASICs that has dominated the Ultra Stable TCXO market for the past 15 years. Compared to Pluto ASICs, Niku offers higher frequencies (up to 100 MHz) and significantly lower jitter (<50 fs) / phase noise (-170 dBc/Hz @ 38.88 MHz) as well as improvements in g-sensitivity (0.2 ppb/g). These improvements make Niku TCXOs the right fit for applications requiring high frequency, low noise and high stability reference clocks, such as AI computing/data centres, 5G Advanced and 6G networks, automotive/V2X and Industry 5.0.
XMEMS® resonator
All Niku-based oscillators feature our new crystal MEMS technology, XMEMS®. High Q XMEMS resonators are designed and manufactured by Rakon using a proprietary wafer-level photolithographic process. The technology is a game-changer within the crystal oscillator industry, allowing for increasingly higher oscillator performance in smaller sizes. XMEMS crystals bring significantly better g-sensitivity, hysteresis and frequency slope compared to traditional crystal resonators
Kelvin™ Temperature Sensor
In addition to the XMEMS crystal and Niku ASIC, the new Niku products also feature our proprietary Kelvin™ temperature sensor technology. This results in more accurate temperature compensation, which in turn improves the stability and airflow sensitivity performance of the oscillator.
