Rakon’s Heritage in India
Rakon has a long history of providing high-reliability FCPs to the market in India for more than 15 years. Rakon is the largest design, manufacturing and exporting company for FCPs in India. Its high-reliability products meet the most stringent military (MIL) and aerospace requirements.
Extending Rakon’s Global Platform
In 2008 a joint venture was formed between Rakon Limited (‘Rakon’) and Centum Electronics Limited (‘Centum’) with Rakon holding a 49% shareholding and Centum a 51% shareholding. In February 2018 Rakon announced it was in advanced discussions with Centum to buy out their shareholding. The acquisition completed in May 2018 and the company was renamed Rakon India.
In June 2018, Rakon CEO Brent Robinson said bringing Rakon India under Rakon’s full control was a strategic decision.
“It now gives us flexibility to invest further into the capability of its manufacturing plant. It will allow us to leverage the full potential of what is a high quality, low-cost operating suitable for growth, and provide the unconstrained ability to align the business with our international operations. Additionally it gives us direct access to the growing market in India.
“Over time we expect further benefits to arise as we leverage the opportunities that his platform makes available to our R&D bases in the United Kingdom, France and New Zealand.”

Rakon Environmental Statement
Rakon recognises the importance of looking after our world. Across its global facilities, Rakon is integrating an Environmental Management System (EMS) to deliver continuous improvement in this area.
Through its advanced technologies, Rakon’s products are continuously becoming smaller, higher performing and they are consuming far less power than legacy designs. This enables its customers to reduce the size of their products; further minimising waste and energy and significantly providing global environmental benefits.
Rakon aims to develop products, manufacturing processes and technologies which are as friendly to the environment as possible. The results to date from its EMS initiatives have been very positive. Even with production volumes increasing, energy consumption, carbon emissions and wastage have been reduced.
